The role for the jellyfish are small. They appear when Nancy is swimming to a buoy in the distance. As she hops into the water, she is stung by several of the jellyfish. The shark also gets stung too. After Nancy and the shark get stung by the jellyfish, the jellyfish are not seen again (or mentioned) throughout the entire film.
